Like a birthday card with your words, except they get to play it

Meet the hungry Ronin, Ari Gateaux, a playful hero who collects cakes, jumps platforms, and says a little arigato thank-you along the way.

In-game pixel art: idle, jump, idle (same frames as when you play).

We couldn't load Ari's picture just now. In the game he's a small ronin hero in the same style as this page.

A traditional card carries your message (and that's lovely), but it often sits in a drawer. Here you personalize the same kinds of things you'd write inside a card (their name, a warm line, a birthday wish), and those words appear inside a short, colourful adventure they'll actually remember. No paper, no envelope, no postage, so it's easier on the planet too.

If you're a parent or grandparent, you don't need to design anything: answer a few simple questions, add your words, and you get a link to text, email, or read aloud. No app store and no download. They open the link on a phone, tablet, or computer and play.

When they reach the big reveal at the end, your message can be more than warm wishes. It can be a clue to a hidden present, where to look in the house, or a web link you paste in (for example a digital gift card, a photo gallery, or a video). Same personal touch as a card, with room for the real-world surprise.

What's possible next: we're planning richer finishes too, like a short voice recording from the people who love them, more visual or video at the reveal, and the hero speaking your lines in a believable character voice so Ari Gateaux feels like he's really talking to them. That deeper media will come in a later update alongside paid checkout; today, personalization is the words you write plus any links you paste.

Example Ari Gateaux gameplay — muted loop so you can watch without sound. When you personalize, their link opens with their name and your message on the title screen before they play. Create a game and open your link for the full experience.

More birthday worlds on the way

Ari Gateaux is our first adventure you can personalize today. We're also sketching new themes so different children can get a quest that fits what they love. Names and details may change, but here's a taste of what's on our roadmap.

Giving back (coming soon)

We’re setting up a simple pledge: as personalized-birthday-games.com grows, we want regular donations to a named children’s charity. We’ll publish the exact mechanism and charity here before we treat any figures as public fundraising. For now, enjoy creating games for free — and thank you for caring about the idea.

Reviews from others who have tried it

We’re new — if you personalize a game for someone you love and it makes you smile, we’d love a sentence we can share with other parents (with your permission).
